La Dressante Coticule Bout
This is a very hard Coticule from the La Dressante vein. It’s slow on water, and only a bit faster on slurry. It’s a bit too slow on slurry to be considered for setting bevels, but with patience that is a possibility. For post 1k mid-range honing it’s an excellent performer; but as a finisher it’s absolutely stellar.
When slurried, this stone produces semi-coarse feedback that is very easy to sense. When honing on water-only laps, the working surface feels a little glassy.
This is a nice size stone for hand-held use, but it’s fine for bench-top honing also.
