These Lilly White bench stones are sort of rare these days. Often, when they do surface, they’re totally soaked in grungy machine oil. This one is in used but pretty good shape, with only a smattering of oil stains.
The main label is in great condition, given its age. The very rare end label telling us that this was a ‘Fine’ Lilly White, is partially worn away. Both labels are sealed though.
The cedar box is in decent shape, but there is a possibility that it is not ‘factory’ original.
This is a fast and very consistent Washita to work on, the honing feedback is very nice and easy to understand. I consider this to be an all-around or do-it-all stone; it’s a one stone sharpening solution for all but the most critical types of sharpening tasks. It cuts fast and polishes very well.
