Aizu is interesting, it is a fast coarser type of stone; I suppose I could put this into the Nakato class easily enough also, but I really feel that it is coarser than, say Aoto or Binsui-to. The stone is a little dry, and it will take on some water. It is a consistent cutter, so it can be a natural bevel-setter for honing razors. It is a fairly rare/uncommon stone, I believe the original source was depleted back in the 1970s.
