Renge is the ‘Lotus Blossom’ pattern found in many Suita. This pattern more common and seen more frequently than Momiji or Mokume. Renge is always soft and usually colorful; so much so that stones with a lot of Renge will produce copious amounts of purple red slurry quite easily.
Renge, like most patterns in most Jnats is a visual asset only; the presence of Renge does not indicate that the stone is harder, faster, better, etc.
