This is an interesting view of what was alleged to be a Thuringian type of whetstone. While it is a good finisher for straight razors – it does seem to have quite a different type of surface, when compared to known/labeled Thuris and Eschers. I am not certain that this view proves or disproves anything, but it is interesting; further investigation is in order though.
