Often, but not always, the grind is asymmetrical, with two faces that we refer to as the “Omote’ and the “Ura’. They can be ground for left and right-handed use.
Kamisori are often manufactured with a laminated style blade; where a soft steel outside is forged onto a very hard-steel center.
