This is a custom-built Pike Swaty Strop Back barber hone. The leather is fixed with a thin layer of waterproof epoxy that provides a bit of ‘give’ to the assembly. The edges of the leather were beveled and then sanded to 1k and treated with a very light coat of strop dressing. The untreated horse hide has a good draw and it puts a really sweet edge fairly quickly. This is a touch up option, not a regular stropping tool; intended for use when traveling or for a quick on-the-fly tune up during a shave.
