Carborundum 101A Razor Hone
The Carborundum 101a is one of my favorite barber hones. The 5” length is nice to work with. While it’s not a large stone in any way, I like to keep this size hone in the shave-den at home, while smaller ones go in the travel kit.
These hones are fast and effective; a few passes is all it takes to get a tugging edge to cut more smoothly. They are not high-end finishers to use in a progression when honing a razor. They are intended to be used on-the-go and that is how they serve best.
