This bowl of English Leather shaving soap is from the pre-Dana period, when the brand was still owned by MEM. The fragrance is, for the most part, gone – but the fact that it was branded by MEM is certainly interesting. I am guessing the vintage is probably early 1980s.
This is a tallow-based soap, and it is an excellent performer. The bowl is plastic, but the shape is great. The lid is somewhat flimsy but totally intact.
