Abstract Dressante

Blushing Stripes Bout 6

La Dressante - #6 Bout

At a glance, one might think this Coticule inspired the abstract impressionists, or a 1980s album cover. Perhaps both.

This is a smaller #6 La Dressante Coticule bout. I loved the pattern, and even though I’m more of a rectangle kind of guy – this stone is cool enough for me to want to have around.

Honestly – I’d designate this to be a superior slurry stone. I have big hands and small slurry stones seem tedious – this jumbo size slab is perfect for me.

When used as a hone (yes, it’s possible – but you have to pay close attention) it’s fast on slurry, which isn’t a surprise because it does seem to have a tinge of softness to it. On water – it seems a bit slow, which is nice. But that’s only a quick read from one experiment.
