Blushing La Dressante Coticule Bout
Generally – I’ve found that Cotis with this color and pattern to be quite exceptional. This one hails from the La Dressante vein, and it is in fact quite a nice performer. The hardness is good, the feedback is great; very keen and exceptionally smooth edges are notable easy to attain with this stone. Visually - the coloring is superb; there’s a light pinkish blushing running all through the stone, with some manganese lines and dots scattered about.
It’s a very solid and continuous stone without any fissures or distractions that I can see. It’s very close to a perfect rectangle, which is always a nice shape to work with; x-strokes and/or circles are easy to manage.
The speed on slurry is quite good but not blazing fast. On very light slurry or water is slows down which makes for a nice simple finish to a keen smooth edge.
It’s slate-backed and the size/shape is ideal for hand-held or bench top use.
