This is just a lovely slab of Kiita Iromono from Shobu. The slurry is pasty and fine, making the feedback a joy to work with. And while this stone is just a little bit soft, it’s certainly hard enough to deliver a first class edge.
Normally, I tend to gravitate to the super hard and difficult stones, but this Iromono really is a lovely stone to work on, it’s quite addictive actually. If this was the only stone I had here – I’d be quite content.
