These wooden Old Spice boxes were produced from the late 1930s until the first couple of years in the 40s. The wood is actually a ridiculously thin veneer, and it is not very durable. Because of that, these boxes are as rare as hen’s teeth.
This example is probablyh from the early 40s. The Hull Pottery mug shows the ship ‘Friendship’ with ‘Old Spice’ in a red cursive font. The soap puck inside has dried up a bit, but there is still a hint of fragrance in there. The original cardboard and wax paper cover are also present.
